Terence T. Gorski, M.A., NCAC II

Until his recent passing, Terry has been president and founder of the CENAPS Corporation, a training, consultation, and research firm specializing in recovery and relapse prevention. He has been internationally recognized for his contribution to developing treatment technology for recovery and relapse prevention. His methods have been applied internationally to manage problems of addiction, mental health problems, violence and crime. He has been a skilled cognitive and behavioral therapist with extensive training in experiential therapies. Terry has been a prolific writer and has authored hundreds of publications including training courses, books, workbooks, videotapes and audiocassettes. His works have been translated in several languages.

Lisa M. Hammond

Lisa M. Hammond is the founder and president of BHER Group, a project management company specializing in broad-based community change initiatives and business improvement programs. In addition to years of management, Ms. Hammond has championed diverse childrens issues from quality child care, pre-school mental health services, and drug and alcohol prevention. She serves as chair of the Early Learning Coalition of Pasco and Hernando Counties, Project Director for the Hernando County Community Anti-Drug Coalition, serves on the statewide Early Learning Advisory Council, and teaches early childhood education courses at Springfield College, Tampa.

Merlene Miller, M.A.

Through the CENAPS Corporation, Merlene has developed educational programs and materials for alcoholism and drug dependence treatment centers. Combining her writing skill and her professional knowledge, she has authored numerous books on alcoholism and addictions. She has worked as program coordinator for the alcoholism/drug dependence studies program at Park University in Kansas City as well as Graceland University in Independence, Missouri.

 

Stephen F. Grinstead, Dr. AD, LMFT, ACRPS

Dr. Grinstead is the Co-Founder and Chief Clinical Officer of A Healing Place—A Residential and Intensive Outpatient Chronic Pain Management Program in Camarillo California.  (please visit www.ahealingplacetheestates.com) for more information). He is author of the book Freedom from Suffering: A Journey of Hope as well as author of several other pain management books including Managing Pain and Coexisting Disorders, and the Addiction-Free Pain Management® Recovery Guide. Dr. Grinstead is also an internationally recognized expert in preventing relapse related to addiction and chronic pain disorders and is the developer of the Addiction-Free Pain Management® System. He has been working with chronic pain management, substance use disorders, eating addiction and coexisting mental and personality disorders since 1984.

Dr. Grinstead has a Bachelors Degree in Behavioral Science, a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and a Doctorate in Addictive Disorders (Dr. AD).  He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, (LMFT) a past California Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC-II), and a current Advanced Relapse Prevention Specialist (ACRPS). He served on the faculty of UC Santa Cruz Extension Alcohol and Drug Studies Program and also taught at Santa Clara University, UC Berkeley Extension and Stanford University Medical School and served on the faculty of University of Utah’s School on Alcoholism and Other Drug Dependencies as well as serving as an Adjunct Professor at Alliant University teaching Masters Level and Psy.D. Students the Treating the Addicted Family System course for the Marriage and Family Therapy track for the past five years.

Since 1996 Dr. Grinstead has conducted Addiction-Free Pain Management®; Managing Pain Medication in Recovery; Managing Pain and Prescription Drug Abuse; as well as Relapse Prevention Counseling, Relapse Prevention for Eating Addiction and Denial Management Counseling, seminars and certification trainings for nearly forty thousand healthcare professionals therapists and counselors at more than 500 training seminars in key cities across the United States and Canada.

Dennis C. Daley, Ph.D.

Dennis is Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and Chief of Addiction Medicine at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC Presbyterians. He has developed and managed numerous addictions and dual disorders programs in inpatient, residential, partial hospital, and outpatient settings. Dr. Daley has been an investigator, trainer or consultant on more than 10 funded research projects on addiction or dual disorders. He has presented educational programs to professionals in more than thirty states, Canada, and Europe. Dr. Daley has more than 225 publications including books, recovery guides, journal articles, and educational films on addiction, mental illness, dual disorders, relapse prevention, and family issues. His recovery materials are used in many treatment programs in the United States and other countries and have reached several million individuals. Several publications have been translated to foreign languages.

Michael E. Thase, M.D.

Michael is director of the Division of Mood, Anxiety, and Related Disorders of the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, associate director of the Mental Health Clinical Research Center, and associate professor of psychiatry, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. A 1979 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Medicine, Dr. Thase has been an active clinical investigator since completing his residency at Pitt. His research interests pertain to the assessment and treatment of mood disorders, including comorbid depression with substance abuse disorders.

Tammy L. Bell, LCSW, M.S.W, CAC

A national lecturer, Tammy provides consultation and training to treatment centers, industry, and schools throughout the United States and Canada. She maintains a private practice in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she specializes in adolescent occupational, and adult relapse prevention. Tammy has been working with adolescents and their families since 1981.

Roland Williams, NCAC II, CADC, ACRPS

Roland is supervisor of Behavioral Health Services, Information and Referral Department at Columbia Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, California. He is president and founder of Free Life Enterprises, a counseling and consulting service. He teaches addiction studies and relapse prevention courses at San Jose University, University of California at Santa Cruz, JFK University at Orinda, and the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

Philip J. Beebe, M.S., CADC

Philip holds a masters degree in Clinical Counseling from California State University at Hayward, California. He is a registered marriage, family, and child counselor and is also a certified alcohol and drug counselor. He has worked in a wide range of clinical settings including U.S. Navy treatment programs, drinking driver programs, school-based prevention programs, and inpatient and outpatient hospital-based programs He has specialized in issues of aging and professional codependency.

Bonnie Zannini, MSW, LCSW, CAADC, CRPS

Bonnie is clinical supervisor at Hanover Township Youth and Family Services in Bartlett, Illinois. She is a psychotherapist in private practice at the Center for Human Development, Elgin, Illinois. Ms. Zannini serves as adjunct faculty at National-Louis University.

Pamela Woll

Pamela is an author, lecturer, and workshop leader. She specializes inbehavioral health issues, including chemical dependency and recovery,stigma, strength-based treatment, violence prevention, relationship health,and spirituality. Caryl Trotter, M.A., MCC, CCMHC

Caryl is the president and founder of Sexual Assault Treatment Services, Inc., a private counseling practice specializing in the treatment of the adult sexual abuse survivor. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from North Texas State University and a masters degree in counseling from the University of New Mexico. Ms. Trotter is nationally recognized as a dynamic and thoughtful presenter.

Claudia Black, Ph.D.

Claudia is a world-famous lecturer, trainer, and author. Claudias films and books about children raised in alcoholic families are used in family treatment programs worldwide. She is a Senior Fellow at The Meadows Institute and a specialist in addiction in families.
